My Next Book Is Coming Soon!

Dear Reader,

I want to thank you, truly, for allowing me to be a part of your journey towards losing weight and gaining health. Writing, for me, is more than a simple sharing of information; I write to provide hope, encouragement, and a path forward for anyone who has struggled with their relationship with food.

It can feel overwhelming when diets fail, habits feel unshakable, and your confidence starts to fade. My goal is not to give you another set of rules (Eat this, but not that! And not too much of the other thing!) with some meaningless empty thin-spiration (You can do it! You are a rock star!). Instead, I offer tools, insights, and compassion that can create lasting change.

My first book, The Obesity Code, explores the multifaceted science of weight gain. It goes beyond the traditional, widely accepted, and yet never-questioned thinking of “Calories In, Calories Out,” to reveal that our hormones and the systems in our body that control them drive weight gain and weight loss.

My new book, The Hunger Code, delves deeper into the many root causes of weight gain: homeostatic (physical), hedonic (emotional), and conditioned (social) hunger. From slowing your digestion to breaking emotional eating cycles and overcoming social pressure to eat constantly, The Hunger Code offers a wide range of practical, evidence-based tips and advice for achieving a healthy weight—and maintaining it.

The widespread use of ultra-processed foods and weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro makes it more important than ever to understand why we eat. The Hunger Code helps us to better understand those reasons, make informed choices, and treat each other with empathy and compassion.

I am grateful for your trust and your time. I hope that these words will encourage you in your journey—reminding you that you are not alone, and that sustainable, healthy, and rewarding change is within your reach.

Thank you again for allowing me to walk this path with you. You are the reason this book was written and why I became a nephrologist focusing on obesity and type 2 diabetes care.

With gratitude and encouragement,
